About Miranda Schmidt

Miranda Schmidt is a writer living in Portland, Oregon. Her work has appeared in TriQuarterly, The Collagist, Electric Literature, Phoebe, and other journals. Miranda is a fiction editor at Phantom Drift and managing editor at the Sun Star Review. She teaches writing at the Loft and Portland Community College. A graduate of the University of Washington’s MFA program and a 2017 Lambda Literary Fellow, Miranda is currently seeking representation/publication for her debut novel, Or Wanting To Be Known, a finalist for the 2017 Nilsen First Novel Prize. She is also at work on a project inspired by shapeshifting fairy tales.
